This can be done in the first stage, where the important choices have to be made, or later when installing and maintaining the equipment.

Quality certification

CE Certification

An CE Certification makes clear if a product is compliant with the regulations of the EER (European Union + Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Iceland). All products at A.O. Smith have this certification.

ISO Certification

The ISO 9001 is an international norm for quality management. A.O. Smith its production processes are all compliant with this norm for quality like ISO 9001.

A.O. Smith is also ISO 14001 certified for the used environmental management system and its application to the design, manufacture, sale, commissioning and maintenance of hot water, heating and water treatment systems.

The ISO 45001 is the Management System for healthy and safe working requirements with guidelines for use. It is a tool to systematically implement the legal obligation for employers to ensure the safety and health of employees.

VCA Certification

VCA stands for Safety, Health and Environment Checklist Contractors. AO Smith attaches great importance to safe and healthy working within the organization. We continue to invest in this structurally. Kiwa has issued our  VGM management system certificate  .

Additional Certifications

Additional Certifications to be eligible for (local) benefits apply in ; The Netherlands, France, Belgium and Great-Britain. A.O. Smith its products also comply with the European Rohs regulations, WEEE and PED regulations.

Development and production processes

Quality is a major factor in the development and production of our appliances. A.O. Smith is a trendsetter in the field of advanced water heating products and technologies. A good example developed entirely in-house, is our patented PermaGlas Ultra Coat enameling: a glass protective layer on the interior surface of the steel tank, ensuring maximum corrosion resistance and a long lifetime of the appliance.
